In 1840 on November 14, Claude Monet was born in Paris, France. In his childhood he painted as a caricaturist. He changed to landscapes due t his early mentor, Boudin. Monet painted mostly outside also due to his mentor. Monet would only paint when the lighting conditions where right. If the color was off even a little bit on the levees on the trees, he would not paint.

In 1871 Monet moved to Argenteuil where he would paint some of his most famous paintings. After going through extreme poverty, in 1890 he was successful enough to by a house in Giverny that he as previously rented. In 1892 he married his misters. He started the affair just three years before the death of his first wife. In the last years of Monet's life, he began to lose his eyesight but still painted until his death in December of 1926.
